Question Pistol Safe Questions

Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this. I'm looking for a safe to keep a hand gun in for my 2006 f150 s-crew.

HOWEVER...I have a split bench (armrest) center console. I have seen plenty for the bucket seat configuration but can't seem to find one for the drop-down armrest for a 150.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I know there is a hidden compartment under the jupmseat cushion. All you have to do is pull the front of the seat up with some force...and it will pop off.

Yup, there's quite the empty cavity under the center '20' seat.

If you have the time and inclination, the front solid sheet metal area could be cut precisely to fit a pistol lock box end size. (the kind that opens on one end based on fingertip code unlocking) Then, when bolted down, you could reach under and just finger'unlock it, and withdraw your weapon.
ETA - Here ya go: http://dsafe.stores.yahoo.net/gvmi.html

Or, if you want it totally innocuous, just bolt a top loading pistol box to the floor as is. But this requires pulling the cushion up every time to retrieve. For me, that would seem like too much of a hassle.

Then again, except when I'm running into a post office, I rarely (read never) leave my pistol in the truck, since I just carry it. LOL. God Bless CCW permits.

You may be able to get a smaller safe that would fit inside the secret storage 'area.'

Hate to break it to you, but my USP compact would never ever fit in there. LMAO.

The one I linked first, if you cut open the front of the sheet metal, should in fact fit in there. (based on my fast rough measurements; YMMV, measure yourself before you buy, because I may have screwed up in taking my measurements)

All great information, folks. I did not know of the removable seat. Thanks very much. I appreciate it.

(BTW 07HD...I'm not your Mom or anything but I can't resist...Ask any state trooper and they'll tell you that a toy pistol in vehicle is a recipe for disaster. It's an easy way to get shot for doing nothing wrong.)

Thanks again.

There is a lock box in the Moss Motors catalog. It goes in the center console. Im not sure if your hand gun would fit inside it or not. But its an idea. Just custom cut some foam and you've got your gun safe.

I'd have to travel a long ways for that kind of thing, and probly get a passport too. If only you knew were I live. Those troopers must be jumpy guys shooting folks just for having a weapon which doesn't require a permit to be carried in their vehicle, are they even legally permitted to do that?
