Center Console Safe....

I purchased this safe from EBAY and thought that I'd post it here since it turned out perfect...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Portable-Pistol-...QQcmdZViewItem

I installed it in my center console since I have the "flow through" console on my 2006 F150 Lariat. It has pre-drilled holes on the bottom so it can be permanently mounted to the console. I removed the center console (easy) and secured the safe using bolts and lock washers. If you want to see pics of it inside the center console, let me know...
It's a "firearm" safe, but can be used to secure anything. It is VERY well built and has a solid construction. You still have additional room inside the console for other things. Let me know if you have any questions! I highly recommend it!

At first, I thought this thread was about the "Console Vault" which takes up your entire flow-thru console ... http://www.f150store.com/Shop/ViewPr...82&SortOrder=1

But, seeing that the one you purchased is more of a single firearm unit and allows for storage on top (?), I must give you the following:

WOW! I am suprised there is no crime up there. I am packing up my family and moving in next door.

BTW: Awesome pics and post. I have a similiar device in my truck. It rarely gets used though. Like American Express. "I never leave home(car) without it".

Looks awesome! I'm thinking that this wouldn't work well for me, because I'd probably have to burrow through six pounds of crap to get down to the safe!

Is the key attacked to your key chain, meaning do you have to turn off your truck to get to your gun. I like the safe and may get one for the wifes Tahoe and my truck.

I bought one of those quick disconnect keychains, so even if the keys are in the ignition, I can disconnect the safes keys and unlock it. I usually unlock the safe before I drive anywhere just in case...

Yeah, at that point, my .45 is in the overhead rail bin right up front ... but only when I'm "traveling" (if then).

Hijack Hijack

Sorry to hijack, but is that a 12V power outlet in your console? My 04 Scab doesn't have that but I wish it did.
