Hey Guys,
Memsu, I feel your pain. I am ford tech, and have been for the last 17 years, with the last 12 years being the trans tech at my dealer. Lately ford continues to push us to try to fix a trans vs replacing.
I am all for repairing a trans (I repair more than I replace, about 95%)but every once in a while comes along one that just makes you scratch your head and it seems nothing you do can fix it. So another call to the hotline and another response "here try this". But I explain, this has been going on for x number of weeks, customer is upset, we should just replace it. No, sorry, is the answer I get.
So, sometimes it is beyond our control and it frustrates us too.
I hope you get your trans replaced. Also just so you know, your replacement will probably be a reman unit, new trans are provided only for current model year, so I wish you luck there too. The remans are not always the best quality, I have repaired many that have not even made it out of my bay!
I have not had too many problems with the 4R75E, but obviously it does happen.

They claimed it was the cold oil hitting the hot oil pan that caused it (crack right down the center of the drain plug). I called BS and had a mechanic look at it and tell me they over tightened the bolt (already figured that much). Well, my explorer had a V8 crammed in it and it took $1200 to put a new oil pan in it. Only had to remove my entire front suspension to get it out. We ended up splitting the bill with the quick lube place. Now if that happens when the dealer changes the oil, they should fix it.

Now, I'd love it if they could put the 6 speed tranny from the Expedition in this truck. They should bolt right up don't you think? But, you'd probably have to get your PCM reprogrammed to work with the extra gears. Maybe get Troyer performance to program that.

(yeah, my 03 Ford sport trac was a lemon) Bumper to Bumper means exactly that, other than the items they list as excluded (brakes, alignment), btw those are not covered by extended warranty either.
Not picking on you, just letting you know that your dealer is feeding it to you.
