if you want to talk xlt to fx4 with lux package i would compare it to a lariat not xlt. just my two cents. friend got an 07 fx4 with lux package...few extra touches that are nice like the painted door and tailgate handles, would look nicer if the flares were painted also like the harley or kingranch. and also black is an interior option on fx4 like the lariat, but lariat gives just a few more goodies inside that are standard like auto air and message center.

 

I traded my 04 FX4 scab for an 06 XLT screw 4X4. I haven't regretted it. The XLT has some options my FX4 didn't and I don't miss the things I gave up when I traded for the XLT. Get the truck you want equipped the way you want and don't get hung up on trim levels.
