Radio does not work
Radio does not work
Ok well, I was finally finished installing the push start button and I blew the radio fuse. So I thought. The radio fuse is a 20amp fuse, it's not blown. In fact, when I reinsert the fuse I can hear the CD player scroll through CD's (you can hear the CD changer motor engaging repeatedly). There is a second fuse which is a 5amp fuse, called the Radio (startup) fuse. That also is not blown.
I tapped into one of the "SWITCHED ON" wires for the radio. I think I may have shorted out the radio, the radio buttons light up, but the LCD display does not work, the radio's LCD screen is blacked out and does not function. No music, nothing. Any ideas?

checked for any burnt fuses and apparently fuse #22 has everything to do with it. Now I am getting back to work, just need to find an alternate and more powerful switched on source for the push start and I'm done. Pics soon!

You would not believe how many people see it and say "That's badass" It is really fun if someone else is trying to start it. They think the truck is broken.
Can anyone help me with this since it's almost the same thing and this thread is done for? When I got into my accident, EVAC cut all my cables in my engine compartment including my power cable for my amp. I've changed the fuse in my amp, the power cable fuse block, fixed the cable. I get a protection light on the amp, my radio turns on and seems to work fine, just no sound? . . is the amp a goner?

Do not use just ANY switched wire for powering the push button. Take a look at the size of the power wire for your ignition switch (light green/violet and red/light blue). There is a reason those wires are so much bigger-because of the amount of current they carry.
I'd bet the reason you are blowing your radio power is because you're drawing waaaaaaaaaay too much power through the circuit.

Thumper I don't know if this makes a difference but it's the only thing I can thing of. Is the remote wire still "intact?"
