Winch on a Ranch Hand Summit?

Does anyone know if theres enough room to bolt or weld a winch plate on to a Ranch Hand Summit style bumper replacement for a 2004 F-150?

Thanks
Joel

Does not look like there is enough room, but if you get the hidden hitch, you can attach the winch to that when needed. That gives greater flexibiltiy as you can attach to the front or rear then.

I wonder as to how much pull that hitch receiver can withstand. Thanks for the response. I was really hoping there would be enough room on top of the bumper even if i had to cut the brush guard to fit a winch. Thanks again ill keep looking for one that looks good and i can afford.

I bet if you gave Ranchhand a call, they could give you some more info on how much weight the front hitch can handle. The bumper will be attached directly to the frame so it wouldn't be the limiting factor.

I don't know what the hidden hitches are actually rated at, but I know that they can take a god amount pull. My dad has a hidden hitch on his F350 4X4 dually, he got stuck on a job site one day with one of the goosenecks behind the truck. The trailer had 13-14000lbs on it, and the truck with all the chains, binders, fuel tank and tool box weights 9000lbs. Anyway, when dad got the truck/trailer stuck I was running the D4 Cat, and there was no other way to hook up to the truck other than useing the front hitch and a 2 5/16 ball mount. Usually we would use the tow hooks and a D-shackle but we couldn't find a shackle any where in the tool boxes. So we hooked up the 3/4" cable that we always keep on the trailer for the Cat and pulled the truck right out. We looked at the hitch a couple of day later and it looked fine, nothing bent or broken.

Hidden Hitch rating = 9000 lbs pull

The rating for Draw-Tite's front receiver is 9000 lb max winch line pull. Hidden Hitch and Reese are owned by the same company and should be the same rating. I believe they are all actually on the same Towing Products drawing, just with different part numbers.

Pics of mine in my gallery - no winch yet, though.
