I think the reason 5.4 Lariet and i should lift our FX2 is because we need to be able to drive over some of the hurricane debris that pretty much leaves everyone stranded at home...lol

I hate hurricane season!!!!

I agree. Please do not jump all over someone who wants to lift their truck .

It's their truck and if they want to lift then so be it, don't chime in with some negative comment. It's like that old saying goes....

"If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it at all".

Well my truck is a 4x2 FX2, but let me tell you that it is MY FX2 Street Edition. I have a 2" AS on the front and an AAL on the rear and I have had too many to count compliments on my truck.

It is and was the first FX2. You see I created that logo on the rear, long before an FX2 was built.

I bet a lifted FX2 would look amazing, so if you want to do it, then do it. I don't think you will regret it.

You guys have been Great! & Yes Cooperhead your right I need to be ABOVE the ground to be able to clear all the debris from the Hurricanes! LOL I'm not going to high guys, I just want to level the front & maybe do 1" block in the rear. That's it. Nothing exagerated! I have yet to see an FX2 out there like that.
Hey Copperhead FYI Manny at Tire Factory Outlet is charging me $350 to install the leveling kit. It's made by Fabtech. He said it's one of the best ones out there. He's a very nice guy. I may take my truck next month to get it done. I just dont like the way these trucks sit so low in the front & so high in the rear. If you ever park next to any other full size truck Dodge, Tundra ETC, you will see how low we sit. I think the only lower one is the Older Silverados, cuz the new ones are high up now!

your truck, your money, your mods. If you want to go that route then do it, nothing wrong with having something different

get a 2-3" block for the rear and ditch the factory block...I don't know if you have one though. I know the 4x4 do for sure. 4x2 guys? anyways, it's dangerous to stack blocks if you do have one.

Fabtech does make good stuff, but the AS spacer has the market cornered, and the price is hard to beat. a 2.5" spacer for the front and 2" in the rear should have you sitting about the height of a stock 4x4, maybe a 1" higher.

another route would be to install 4x4 coil-overs in the front. they are 1" to 1 1/2" taller than the 4x2...your front end will go up and you'll get a little stiffer ride also...better handling

Thanks!
Leave it the way it is! Your truck looks great just like it is now.

I lifted my 05 STX by using a 2" AS in the front and 4x4 blocks and shocks in the rear. It gave the truck a 2" lift all around. People are constantly commenting on my truck about how they love the truck's stance. I say if you want to lift your truck do it.

henkyjenky, if you want I can find out if my buddy that works at that dealership can order that ightbar for you just let me know.
Haha, I know exactly what your talking about. I think the best ones are the stock heigth rangers and tacomos with the white fenders and BFG ATs that are the same size as the stock tires.

Oh and back on track its your truck do what you want with it. I have a 4x2 with a leveling kit and 33s and I think it made the truck look so much better.

exactly, or the guys that put 33's on ranngers and have no rear suspension travel because the tires are 1/2 inch from the bed.

Get a 6" Fabtech. I got coilovers that gave me 3" in the front and fit 33's. It looks real nice but I want bigger. Every one with 4wd jacked trucks don't off road anyways. Give me a break, besides when offroading you shouldn't be in 4wd anyways!!!! You use 4wd to get yourself out while you were offroading in 2wd. And if you are experienced enough offroading...IN 2WD LIKE YOU SHOULD BE....you won't get stuck....keep it on the gas!

I have no issue with guys raising or lowering their trucks...I do have a little problem with 4x2 pretending to be 4x4...lift it a little bit to fit some 33" or 35" tires, that is fine, heck, I recommend it...but at some point the truck needs to be more Pre-runner and less 4x4

btw, 4wd should be used in most situations. 4x2 wheeling causes alot of damage to trails. you depend on wheel spin to get you places instead of solid traction. you just need to know your vehicle and have a good estimate of what it can honestly do so you don't get stuck...and NEVER wheel alone
