f150 does not have side impact airbag devices that i know of.....if this was a side impact, no steering wheel airbag would have deployed....must be a frontal hit from what i understand.....i work with ems / rescue and we have to keep up with most of this stuff. i have seen a lot of mva's in which the front airbag did not deploy in a hit such as this...looks like it slid in and hit sideways and it does say the truck was almost torn in half.....sound more like a big side impact
as a matter of fact, we recently had a side impact involving a mercury mountaineer with side curtain airbags, side impact near frt door hinge area...no front airbags deployed but side curtains did on affected side

Obviously not what he would have been thinking (or what I was saying), how many people have been killed because they were driving their vehicles beyond their personal abilities.
