BUT it may have higher quality plastic than the other trucks do...
You must have a sandpaper a$$. I'm at 48K and mine looks new.

Why buy the F150

Have him take a look at the picture of the guy's truck from Canada who got run over by the dump truck AND LIVED - or any of the other pictures of people who's vehicles were totaled AND LIVED - if he has a wife and or kids that should be more than enough (along with good looks, ford tough, etc.)

Plusses:
Best looking half ton pickup on the market.
Best aftermarket support of any current model.
Quiet in the cab.
Rides like a Lincoln, even the 4x4 does!
American company, American parts, American Assembly. Buy American!
Ticks off tree huggers something fierce.
Scares the h*ll out of Miata owners.
Durable as all get out. I see more old Fords on the road than ANY other pickup. Dodge, Chevy, or GMC. (Or International Harvester for that matter). There are LOTS of old F100s still running around here on the interstate on a daily basis.
Hardest working, hauling, and towing. Maybe not on paper, but in real life, the Fords get the h*ll beat out of them and they keep coming back for more...
Comfortable interior. Lots of headroom!
Configuration options.
Options.
Options.
Options... You get the idea.
Price is MUCH more reasonable than say a Ram, Titan or Tundra.
It's not a Chevy.
It's not a GMC.
Largest volume pickup bed.
6.5 foot bed available with crew cab model.
Supercab has excellent legroom in back for an extended cab (non crew cab) pickup, better than Dodge's Quad Cab for sure!
Strongest frame.
Highest crash survivability rating.
Best handling.
Overhead rail system for storage of rear seat DVD (Family friendly design).

Minuses:
Gas milage. Last I looked at the EPA est though, all half tons got about the same more or less, the Dodge and the Titan were the worst if I recall right.
Spark plug issue with the 5.4L 3V
Not the fastest truck on the road. The 5.4L puts out a mere pittance of 300hp. (Yes I am being VERY sarcastic).
Interior fabrics soak up any staining material they can. Scotch guard the interior before getting in the truck. (Have the dealer leave the plastic seat protectors on, and take the truck to a detail shop and have it done IMMEDIATELY!)
4WD uses IFS instead of solid axle with 4 link. But they are all like that now.
No factory installed selectable locker option.
No aftermarket selectable locker option for 9.75" rear end (5.4L trucks only).
Supercab rear doors do not open far enough.

Basically, this should be a no brainer. This is a safe, durable, comfortable workhorse. NOT a hot rod. Ford Sells Mustangs, and GTs for that. I'd love a Roush Mustang, the GT doesn't have enough headroom for me....

I noticed you said the price is MUCH more reasonable than a Titan. Not to correct anyone or anything, but the fully loaded Titan LE 4x4 crew with every option (more power, bigger crew cab than F-150, navigation, etc, etc...) costs about $44k less a $3000 rebate right now, so a net price of $41k. Get the same thing in an F-150 (crew, leather, nav, dvd, tow, etc..) and it's also about $44k with a $5000 rebate right now, so about $39k net price.

Of course, I am talking about before negotiations and stuff. I don't call a $2k difference in price MUCH more reasonable.

Anyway, I agree, the F-150 is the best looking truck out there and the interior rocks. Very capable, fun to drive, etc..

I sell Nissans for a living and I personally think the Titan is butt ugly.

only problem is that your showing window sticker prices...from my experience, most import car dealers are unwilling to ****er with the prices. I always get that "imports are better and last longer, so you pay more" mentality...you can go to a domestic dealer and give them a reasonable offer, and unless they just made their sales quota for the week, they'll play ball. My truck is loaded and it was $37k before the $5k rebate with a sticker price of $42-43K (it's been a while)

POSITIVES: Sturdy construction
-safety rating is top one
-they do last forever
-so you don't have 301+ hp...but you can out-tow any other 1/2 ton on the market
-leather is amazing...very comfortable
-75 mph can hear very little road noise...good cab sound canceling

Negatives: thirsty beast...but wait, that's common to every truck in existence
-there is a spark plug problem...but it really isn't an issue until ~100,000 miles
-04/05 had drivetrain issues...the 06+ have 90% or more been ironed out
-factory radio has preset audio levels...you can't precisely dial in the volume you want. not loud enough, can only go 1 stage up...and vice versa
-the low end models have crappy interior options...cloth seats that stain, sh*tty dashes, the manual A/C and heat controls.
