Broken!

Somehow my truck decides to break the piston for the brakes. I think that is what the mechanic said it was. He showed me and it was about 1 1/2" around and said that it pushed out and was what squeezed the calipers on the disc. Also said that he had never seen a truck this new do that. I was supposed to go on an ATV trip pulling three quads and a trailer with my truck this weekend. Money (the lack of) kept me from that. Someone must have been looking out for me and my buddies.

Is there any chance that you rest your left foot on the brake peddle? Just curious. Hopefully when fixed there won't be any more problems. Are you getting it covered under waranty?

I just replaced my rear passenger caliper because the piston was cracked. One day the brake light came on so I checked the fluid and it was pretty low.
Checked the tires and sure enough the RR was all wet with brake fluid. The piston had a crack right through the middle. I got the caliper for $139 with a $70 core. Easy cheap job you can do yourself with simple handtools. Dont let the dealer rape you

Don't rest foot on pedal. And yes it is being covered under warrenty. I did not notice any brake fluid leaking out though.(?)
