i have a 2006 supercrew black lariat with the gold honeycomb grill.

the ford logo in the grill appears to have become damaged somehow, the coating protecting it appears to be 'decaying' in some way and looks like it has water damage under it all over.

i am looking to replace the logo, emblem. ive noticed it has screws behind it to mount it would seem.

any info would be appreciated.

 

Take off the nuts on the back side of the grill. Off it comes.

 

Same exact thing happened to mine. Looked like water had gotten under the clear cover on the front FORD emblem. Dealer will replace it under warranty if you want to same emblem.

 

Just found this problem on my grandfathers 06 K.R. Saturday. Supposed to take it to the dealer this week.

 

I took mine off grill and tail gate as well as the F150 emblems and had em all painted black. ( the 06 and up have raised Ford lettering that looks good painted - imo ) Needed a heat gun, the double sided tape sticks real good!
