I think mine is short enough, hah. Would not mind the 6.5ft bed at all, this is my last 5.5ft'r. I need a bed extender :X

what exaclty is this??/

is this when you shorten the bed length cause the overhang past the wheels scrapes or gets stuck on the ground when going up inclines?

yep, you cut off anything that is behind the rear wheels (well the leaf spring mounts anyways) and put a frame crossmember in to support the loss of the rear frame.

seems like a bad idea to me. Unless your truck is a dedicated 4x4 only that probly won't see any street. but hey, it's your truck.

throw some pics up if you do it.

it just looks like a Scab with the 5.5' bed option on it and the tailgate removed.

I think the issue is that it has no rear bumper or hitch. kinda gives it a SPORT/COMPTRUCK look. I think it looks ok, but I use my hitch and like having a bumper out back.

A bobbed bed is actually a shortened bed, not just removing the bumper and hitch.

Here's a pic of a truck w/ 14 inches cut out between the rear fender wells and the tailgate.

1985 Ford Ranger SingleCab

this is a better example of a bobbed bed. notice how the frame got cut immediately after the rear leaf mounts.

That 1st truck isn't bobbed. it has some pre-runner stuff on i though.

I know what it looks like on a toyota and a mid 90s chevy 1500. My question was about the ford with a bobed bed. I already have a 5.5 foot bed.
