Those running straight pipes

What did yall do after you removed the pipe from the Y? Did you completely take the rest of your pipe off or did you just take that one piece of pipe from that connects the Y to the muffler off? BTW i'll never go back I love the sound

I cut mine off right after the Y and it sounds pretty good. Just not liking the loss of power when I am trying to pull a trailer. But it still sounds good enough not to change back.

EDIT: I didn't have any power loss at all either. I had dual flowmasters before.

I had straight pipes on my first truck. After 2 years of setting off car alarms and getting ringing in my ears, I have to have mufflers now. I might end up running true duals instead of my SIDO when I start making some true power (400+).

how loud is the Y pipe dump? I imagine it can be pretty loud on the highway.

its really not as loud as you think but it sounds damn good. My only fear is getting pulled over for it, some cops around here in certain city's are real *******s. *******s to the point were i roll down my windows everytime i drive through so i dont get a tint ticket.. I hate small town cops who think theyre badass

HA!

I love my small town cops, they know everyone who lives here, and won't pull them over. But if you're speeding thru to go to the college, you're busted!! I love it!

I do want them louder but I might be getting a set of headers, I'm not too worried about it though. I'm going to have the tips put under the truck which should make it a little louder in the cab.
