Fastest 4.6L in a truck or in anything? There are some 32V DOHC 4.6L's in Cobras that are pretty quick.

4.6 L. T-67, first graph on the top is at 8 PSI (Base kit). The second was at 16 PSI (And I can dial in 5 PSI more, as I saw 20 PSI on the guage. At all boost levels on back to back runs, charge temp was 91 degrees!

A/F is 11.5:1, and the power levels at 8 PSI are perfect for stock engines. NO LAG. Now, with the controller (16 PSI) the boost hits so quick and hard you really have to be on the ball, because you will hit the rev-limit in the first 3 gears. It happens that fast.

Both graphs peak at 4000 RPM. That is...

8 PSI- 388.7 RWHP, and 428.7 RW FT/LBS.
16 PSI- 478.0 RWHP, and 542.9 RW FT/LBS!

And I have the fuel system capacity to dial in 20 PSI. Heh!

Ridge, i hate to say it, but you've got a loooooooooooooooong way before you're even close to 500. rafa has the 5.4 and after everything he built up, hes around 550 or so, and i think capable of 700. unless you drop in the new 3v 4.6, or the 4v cobra 4.6, its nearly impossible. you should look into other factors, like cutting down weight and stuff like that to "increase" your power.

and if you're drooling over the 16 psi number, STS turbo (and i'm sure most of the S/C manufacturers) HIGHLY recommends 8-10 psi max in the smaller motors (4.2 & 4.6) unless its built from the ground up.

I'm running a 6.78 secon 0-60. haven't gotten to the track yet.

Ridge never said rearwheel horsepower. So guessing he ment 500 at the flywheel seems possible. But I do agree that Ridge should do some supporting mods to help.

i know its along ways away however i have several plans to go with, i still havent decided to go with a supercharger or turbo but i will need to figure that out within a month i may be considering a complete motor swap to a terminator motor, or even a ground up build then going to a twin turbo motor or even just a single turbo, like i said it will be a few months right now me and a group of people are just trying to figure out whats best to start off with to get me in the 500hp area (not at the wheels for the moment)

here's another conversation about twin turbos. i realize his is a 4.2, but you may gather some useful information
