im actually thinking about doing that, do you know what all would be needed to do the swap so i can get a price quoted for parts, and what type of upgrades are out there for our transmissions to handle this power.

i sure hope you meant "for the 4.6 motor" at the end of that statement...

and yes, they're just coming out with it. I think one company is out there, and magnacharger is (from what i hear) soon to be releasing one.

Just curious (and I have asked this before of others with seemingless endless dreams), but what is your budget for this build? From your posts you really don't seem to have a vast mechanical knowledge on the subject so I expect you will have to pay a someone to do most of your work...and the labor on a custom set up like this will likely be as much as parts. So thats whyI am just curious as to how much you think it will cost you to do what your thinking of.

Why not a Mach I motor...isn't it the same as the Cobra just less the SC? Of course the Cobra motor may have forged internals and the Mach I not. I am not sure...thats why I am asking. But if its the same internaly it looks like the Mach I engine would be the better choice since your changing the blower anyway.

The 03-04 cobra motors have a solid bottom end, come factory with h-beam rods and forged pistons. Mach 1 does not.

There are several, and i mean SEVERAL 03-04 cobra owners with stock long blocks pushing 650-700rwhp. There are a few now that are pushing 900-1000rwhp on bone stock long blocks. The most wide spread known one is HPP's blue TT daily driven cobra. With some Torco added to some 93 octane in the tank, I beleive they were seeing close to 920-950rwhp....

HPP's TT setup, I beleive once you get all the bells and whistles, is around 8k or so. I have seen complete 03 cobra motor drivetrains go for 6k with computer and harness. If you did the work yourself, sold some of the old parts from the vehicle you swapped the cobra motor into, sold the old supercharger etc off the 03 cobra motor, I'm sure under $10k for the swap could be accomplished.

Cool...I thought the internals on the Cobra may have been different to handle the SC but I wasnt sure.

There is also a difference in the crankshafts between auto and stick mach 1's. I want to say the sticks had forged crank shafts, where the autos have cast.

Something of that nature anyway.

You're still going to be up around 14k with those numbers. Stock eatons are a dime a dozen due to Kenne Bell/Whipple swaps. Ok, maybe more like $4500/dozen, but still that's not going to put much of a dent into your cost. Selling the blower lower intake doubles that, so now you have $800 or so back....

And even low mileage stock 4.6's typically hover in the 1k-1200 range for resale value. I'll be pulling a <10k mile 4.6 out of my 06, and don't expect to see more than that out of it.

That's exactly right. Rods and pistons are cast/powdered junk on both, but the manual Mach gets a forged crank for some reason.

no i can do the work myself, i just dont know much about turbos, and superchargers thats why i have 2 other people helping me out with this build, one will tune it in my garage with a wideband, the other has a good experience with turbos since hes built his supra up. as far as all the work it will just cost me alot of pizza, wings, beer, etc lol. but i dont know much about the parts offerd for the new 4.6 f150 las time i looked theres wasnt really anything for it in the aftermarket world
