Glad you made it out okay I would bet the neon was totaled out from the looks of the damage to it.

Too bad you didn't have a Pintle Hook on your truck at the time... I still want to see one of those big babies go into a car and push the engine block into the cabin of the car.

Thats gonna run about 1600. I got rear ended by a mustang. I was doing 5 and the mustang was doing 40. Very similar damage. The bumper is about 500+paint. The plastic cover is around 100. The hitch is fun because some of the bumper mounts are part of it, so if the bumper mounts are bent you need a new hitch for about 400.

No one in my truck was hurt either..

I got similarly bumped about 2 months ago. I was stopped. the illegal immigrant in the miinivan was doing maybe 5mph. No damage to the truck whatsoever. I just happened to have the ball mount on my truck that day. It went THROUGH the guys radiator, and he got stuck on my hitch! To say the least that Chrysler Town & Country was tore up from the floor up!

And yes I did take it in to have the frame inspected afterwards. No damage, except where I dragged the T-case cross member accross a rock that is...

I've got to agree with everyone else... If that was a 60mph accident, then your tailgate would be sitting in your backseat... More like a 15-20mph crash... Maybe the Neon was going 60mph when he noticed it was time to brake, but not when he finally hit you.
