That little flapper on the gas tank?

I have a 2005 Flareside and I put gas in today and noticed that the little flapper is not there. So now my question is was it ever there? I think I had one, but since it's not there now, I am not so sure. I have had the truck now almost 2 years and I just can't remember. Any help, Thanks.

HAHAHA the first time I filled up my truck I noticed that! My last few trucks had one so it was noticeable to me. Aren't the flaps bad for pressure etc.? I'm not sure what these are for.

This is actually quite funny because I think I remember having one, but when I filled up today there wasn't one there. So I don't if I was something before or maybe I saw one when I was filling up another vehicle. But oh well.

I guess I could look at my dads truck and all the other vehicles we have and see if one of them has one. But I'm not too concerned.
