Leather steering wheel wrap

How hard is it to install one of these? Thinking of putting one in my XLT.

Its a pain but it looks pretty good. Nice way to protect your wheel and not have a cheesy cover on it. Took me around an hour to install and I needed my wifes help. One set of hands wasnt enough imho. Hope this helps...

I can imagine

a lot of stretching so that it makes it all the way around... that kind of thing?

I went with one of these:
http://www.wheelskins.com/index.php

It did take about an hour to do simply because of all the time for lacing it up. I would recommend some pliers to pull it through as it is a little tough on some of the holes. It looks really good though and feels a lot better than my XLT wheel. I do kind of wish I would have gotten the two-tone in like charcoal and gray to match the interior color scheme. I got a single color gray and it matches the gray color really well.

Yeah, Wheelskins is the route I took on my XLT. Its a little tedious but all the hard work makes for a near or better than factory match.

Swap the wheel

I swapped my sterring wheel out for a lariat wheel that I found on ebay. Cost me about $90, and took about 20 minutes to do.

That would be the easy way if they made a leather wheel in my interior color

I put on a wheelskins two tone leather steering wheel cover to match my XLT interior. I put it on by myself one night in the dark in my carport. It's not that hard at all. The stitching was actually fairly straight forward. Highly recommended.
