I owned a 98 2wd extended cab f150, an 02 Dakota Sport ext cab 4x4, an 05 Silverado ext. cab 4x4 and now own an 04 FX4 4x4 supercrew. I can say that the FX4 is a hands down better truck than the other 3 I have owned. The ride is smoother, it is EXTREMELY quiet inside and the interior has fit and finish that the other 3 didn't even come close to. My Fx4 has some options on it and had just over 40K miles on it when I got it a few months ago. I picked it up at a Ford Dealer in Michigan for $19,999. It is in really nice condition, just needs some tires. I have to say, it took me a month to find that deal within a few hours of where I live. Most of them were selling for $22-$26K with similar mileage. I found mine on autotrader.com. Before buying this truck, I looked into Chevy's, Dodge, toyota and nissan. In my opinion, in the $20K range, the 04 and up F150 is the best choice. I even like it enough to came on this forum to talk to other people who love their trucks as much as I do now. I've never cared enough about my other trucks to do that....hope this helps.
