I **LOVE** my black truck but, it's a TOTAL PITA to keep up with....

The truck was nearly prestine pulling into the lot this morning... I'm now buried under about an inch of pollen.

In all honesty, this *will* be my first and last black truck/vehicle.

I think I'm going with white silver or grey next time around. If you offroad or occasionally run through some brush, you're going to be in tears at the damage. My truck looks ugly after a wash, always needs a couple coats of wax to look decent. But when it shines it f'in shines =d

My motto is and always will be that BLACK looks great when someone else owns it. i've owned 1 black vehicle in my life and that was the last black vehicle i will ever own, my current is white and when shes dirty she still looks clean except for the front wheels

8 out of my last 10 vehicles have been black and I still have 3 black vehicles.
As already mentioned, black looks awesome when clean but it can be a PITA to keep clean.

In a word, yes.

I *had* to have a black truck. I mean, nothing looks better than a black truck, right? Well, I'm one & done on black. I think Dark Shadow Grey or Dark Stone will be next.

The PITA is worth in after you get it washed and then head to town to turn heads...

Exactly!

Black is a PIA to keep up with, but when properly cared for there isn't a truck on the road that looks better than a black F150.

Yeah, but that pleasure lasts all of 15mins, at best, this time of the year [pollen].

Well, after my 2005 Supercrew, I said I'd never have balsck again. So, I went with Wedgewood Blue on my 2006 Superduty. When it got dusty, it looked so drab. So, with my 2007 Supercrew, I went black again. And next time, I will NOT get black again. I am thinking of silver with grey (two-tone), or white with tan. I have a job that eats up most of my day, and two small kids that take what I have left. I used to spend Saturdays detailing my trucks as it was my hobby. My how times have changed. Black takes alot of work if you want it to shine. The only problem with earth-tone colors is that they look so drab after dust hits them. I say the same with silver and white... the offer no relective properties like darker colors to give some shine to show off your hard work of polishing and waxing. But, when you don't have time, the lighter colors win hands down. Unfortunately, I may consider a King Ranch next time, and Dark Copper is my vote. Hopefully that's somewhere in the middle.

Good luck with the black if you go that route. I will say, though, it is not AS BAD as I was told years ago if you are a person with a conscience that just likes to run your vehicle through a wash once a week. A good wax job goes a long way to helping a high pressure wash blow off the dirt between hand washes.
