305/50/20 fit without leveling???

Can get a good deal on a set of wheels and tires and wonder if this size tire will fit w/o a leveling kit. currently have 275/60/20 and no problems.

Thanks!!!!

I had mine fit with no problem. I have a 4x4, and I removed the rear 2" blocks. I had a bit of rubbing in the back on very hard bumps (actually one really extreme dip in the road). But I think that was attributable to the crappy stock shocks - the tires were not close to anything.

I think it might also depend on your wheels. I am running 20x9 with a 35mm offset. But from what I could see I had PLENTY of room before anything would rub.

Here is a pic of my wheels and tires - in these pics I have leveled the front (Bilstein lift shocks) and put the 2" blocks back in with Bilsteins in the rear which can lift up to another inch.

Rear wheel and tire:

How far they stick out:

Thaison, what size tires are on yours? (they look a little narrow in the pics to be 305/50) The 305/50/20 may fit without the kit, but may look a little off without the leveling kit. I have 285/50/20 on mine with the 2.5" leveling kit and it looks real good. The spacing between the tires and fenders look even between front and rears. If I'm not mistaken, the 305/50/20's are about 13.5" wide and will stick out of your fenders a good amount. You may want flares with that set up, and will come real close to rubbing on the inner fender wells up front. (just a guess though) My 285/50/20 with the kit doesn't rub at all, and would prob. work without the kit too.

Nope, they are 305/50/20. Keep in mind its not only the width of the tire that determines how far it will stick out. Its also the offset of the wheel. So if you were to take my wheel vs. a Moto Metal 951 in 20x9 - its going to have more of an offset which will cause it to stick out more than mine does. I am nowhere close to rubbing in the front or the rear, and wasn't really that close before I leveled my truck. You should be fine if you dont get a wheel with a big offset.

OK, there you go, 2 guys are using them with no issues. Sorry to question you Thaison, they just looked a bit narrow in the pics. I too have the 35mm offset on my 285/50/20 and it looks like they stick out of the wells about the same. I originally bought 305's for mine and never mounted them because I thought they were way too wide and would rub. Guess not!

hey guys,
thanks so much for the input, pictures do wonders dont they. the wheels i currently have are 20x8.5 w/35 offset, so they same as both of you guys. the wheels i was looking at were Forte F7 Klutch, 20x8.5 w/31 offset. How are those Falken tires, they were the ones i was leaning toward, those and second was Geolander HTS, both 305/50/20.

However, after consulting with the boss(wife) and will only be getting new tires. Was quoted a price of $135 plus tax per tire mounted, balanced, the whole package. I guess thats probably the way to go.

Thanks again and feel free to add more input, always listening.
