Took it in the rear today...
Fortunately it was the truck and not myself...it was a nice 4 car pile up with the mercedes in the back being totaled, everybody was ok (except that guys insurance company). My truck made it through with just a few fleshwounds on the bumper and I think the bumper might have shifted a little but i'll have to look at it in the light tomorrow. I'll try to have pics up eventually. What is it with these trucks and accidents?
Hey man that sounds like a personal problem.
Sucks to hear about that though. I don;t know how hard you were hit but my dad got rear ended at like 45mph and it bent all the bumper brackets until the bumper was stitting on the body it also bent the hitch a little bit. Hope you get it fixed soon.

That is why you should get a Reese extension with a Pintle Hook and stick that in your trailer hitch... let me tell you something... I wouldn't feel bad for whoever gets stuck with that in their radiator and pushes their engine block inside the car. Teach'em all a lesson.
What was really cool was what I saw yesterday... a nice blue F150 (looked to be a '06) got rear ended and he had a Reese 5" drop hitch on his truck and the kid who rearended him was driving a new Hyundai Sonata... well not only did it put a gaping hole in his bumper, it also put a nice hole in his radiator which was leaking hot and steamy coolant, and pushed his engine block toward the back.
What happened to the F150? Nothing... just a scraped up towball.
Taught that idiot a lesson... taught him not to rear end something that ain't gonna move.

Luckily the guy whose car got totalled has really good insurance (travelers I think), they sent an adjuster out this morning and put a check in the mail this afternoon, not what I was expecting at all. I wasn't even gonna bother making a claim to my insurance company (nice $1000 deductible). So I think now i'll visit the detailing section of the forums and figure out how to get rid of the scuffed bumper and put that check towards a nice s&b intake.
sorry about ur truck hopefully its not too bad.
if you dont mind me asking where did you get your cowl hood?
