go buy a $7 plug kit from wal mart or any parts store and do it yourself. Takes about 5 minutes to do

I agree. As long as it's not in the sidewall you should just plug it. I had a nail in my 20" Pirellis at about 10,000 miles, plugged it and now have 35,000 miles with no problems since.

I've never had any luck at all with plugs. They've always leaked. I have my flats patched.

I just go have a patch done. I feel they're more reliable than a plug. imho

Just plug it and be done with it!!

Now onto your next question, how long do tires last? Well, I'm assuming you're talking about the stock tires but they should last 30,000-50,000, depending on your driving style and maintance.

Depending on the way you drive and the condition of your suspension (alignment) they may last you as long a 35K -40K. So considering that you are only about 1/3 through this tire.

I would go with the other members recommendation and get it plugged. I ran over something once that punctured my tire in the tread. Had it plugged and drove on the tire for at least 20K more without a problem. Cost me $12 for the tire shop to do it for me.

Dont plug it! Patch it up Way better!

Tire wear depends on different things, overinflating, underinflating, makin smoke pour out of em , depends on your driving habits

I've plugged many tires and I hate to tell you guys, I've never had one leak afterwards. . user error maybe?

PS: I've heard stories of patches failing as well so it all comes down to a proper installation.

Thumper, maybe the reason why some of us dont like to use plugs is because they stick out, and I dont know if u ever really use your truck off-road but plugs dont last that long on the ranch, dont get me wrong there a quick fix just think patches last longer.

Im sure your not the ONLY inclined do it yourselfer here

Plugs should barely stick out of the tire, almost unnoticeable by the naked eye, if they are installed properly. . like I said, I've never had one leak. I've lived on a 'farm' longer than I've been driving and I've plugged a lot of tires with no problems. Yes, my truck does go offroad, usually every other day.

Anyways, I knew someone would get bent out of shape by my comment but thats not what it was directed as, more of an eye opener that anything can fail if installed improperly. Chill out. .

no, no offense was just wondering if you had experience with plugs offroad, if you've lived on a ranch your entire life then you must know what I mean?
