Amsoil 0w20 ?

Hi All
Just spoke to my Amsoil rep. Asked what he would recommend for my 2004 ,5.4 . The only 5w20 they have is in their XL line (cheaper).
He suggested a oil viscosity that just came out 0w20 , said this is a premium oil far better than their xl line and will work just fine.

Anyone using this oil ? Can I run 0w20?

Im in Petawawa, near Ottawa, and 0w20 is the accepted replacement for th e5w20 that comes in the trucks. The Ford 5w20 is semi-synthetic and I cant speak for the US, but in Canada, there heve been quite a few problems with the newer 5.4 and 4.6L engines if the get regular mineral oil. A lot of people are using 0w20 synthetic and it seems to work well.

I think the only concern on these newer engines is going with a thicker oil.

I've been thinking the same thing. . tolerances are tight enough now a days.

go with whatever amsoil recommends, I am a dealer/distributor as well, and whatever amsoil recommends is THE BEST for your vehicle.
