The pics of your FAL kit looks pretty good. So you say its a good kit, and you are plesed? Does it come with a switch if you want to turn it on sitting in traffic or what not manually? Where did you order it from and cost if I may ask? Thanks.

I have the Tbird fan and the DCC controller.
Three VERY Important things to consider when adding efans.
1. Controller- Look for one that has the "soft start" capability. Some fans draw up to 40-50 amps on the initial surge on startup. The soft start slowly regulates the current/voltage (cant remember which!) by interupting the ground. This will GREATLY extend the life of your controller. I totally SCORCHED a MAD controller with the TBird fan because it was instant on. SPAL and the DCController are soft start..
2. OEM Reliability in the Fan- the Big 3 demand high reliability in their components and the components go through rigorous quality control processes. You dont need redundancy when you dont expect something to fail. Use a Ford taurus fan or Tbird/Markviii fan. They have some of the highest OEM flowrates. Im not sure of the source of some of these aftermarket fans but you know what you are getting in an OEM fan. Tbird fan was $150 delivered
3. Indicators- I HIGHLY recommend the use of LED lights to indicate that the fan is working properly or a temp alarm on your edge. My MAD controller melted and the only way i knew it wasnt working was the LED light was blicking erratically.

ZERO problems with my DCController/Tbird fan kit since last year (sometime )
I hope this helps muddy the water for some of you.

Is there a reason he went to a single fan? What happened to the mad controller?

The Troyer e-fans are inferior in quality than the JDM efans, that's why i replaced mine.

Looks like the same one I used to have on my Lightning, good choice. If the radiators are the same size as the 99-03 models then I may have to look at going that route again. Do you have any pics of your efan swap?

Hi.

I'm assuming JDM's kit (http://www.teamjdm.com/shop/product_...products_id=25)

is similar to the MAD kit ( http://www.madenterprise.com/fanstuff.htm), which uses an RF-86.

Other than the cost, MAD's appears to be a better deal because the A/C interface is included & not an option as it is on JDM's.

Can't really comment on the controllers, but again MAD's appears to be more elaborate.

Will one 18-incher really outflow two 16's ?

Price is a wash ... $450-$480 range

Which one do you guys prefer?

Thanks

I think I'd prefer the MAD DIY system which is only $334.

How hard can it be to attach the fan to the shroud yourself, and why would I buy one pre-attached to an OE shroud when I already have one.

Of course my big concern is CFM and having that redundant second fan in case of failure.
