Question What is the best E-fan out there?

What is the best most reliable efans for our trucks? Is a single or a dual fan setup better? Also what are the benifits of them? TIA.

I've heard pretty good about Jusnes. Troyer controllers are prone to damage very easily. I'm talking about the temperature pots, the stop pin breaks and allows pot to spin freely. And the fuse constantly melts, appears to diffuse just before starting fire.

i have the troyer fans and i've gone through two set's of controllers.i would go a different way.i had to just about argue to get a new set and they said it was the only time they would replace them.i installed to thier directions and they got wet driving through some pretty heavy rain.now that secound set has fried also i have the stock fan on the truck.i went with troyer because of all good things said about their customer service.you be the judge.now that my rant is over what an controllers would work with the troyer fan setup.

SPAL, MAD, DC Control.

Things to consider:

> use 2 for redundancy - you have 2 fans
> ensure the current ratings are adequate - 16" fans have huge starting current demands - adequate wire & relay sizing is a must.
> add manual override switching
> add indicator Leds in-cab
> solder & liquid tape everything you can; use dielectric grease on connectors
> consider using high-current external relays to actually switch the fans if you don't care for the 'soft-start' feature of some controllers - the controller only runs the power relays - this facilitates manual switching additions, and could increase controller service life.
> Suppression required across all relay coils & contacts

What I'm trying to say is, this is engine cooling we are talking about here, kinda important. So do it right - plan it out, take your time, spend the appropriate amount of money. If you are NOT willing or able to invest the effort, stay with the stock mechanical fan. A rushed, cheap or 'kludgy' install is an unreliable one.

Best advice I can give you ...

Flex-a-lite 270 kit...it comes with a shroud which uniformly distributes air across the radiator...the controller is rock solid as well...haven't had a problem with it yet...check out pictures in my gallery...

I don't mean to hijack the post, but GerRod, your v-rod is gorgeous. Nicest one I've seen IMO.

Back to efans....

Im very interested in this mod as well, and have been leaning towards the setup from Junes as i have had pretty good luck with them with things i bought for my last truck.

I am keeping an on this thread as it will definately help me make up my mind on which fans i will buy.

Why dont you like the Jusnes fans?
What are using instead as you are 1 of the guys i trust on these forums, and i would be more inclined to use the same setup as what you have.

Sorry to hear they were unable to help you. The same went for me, except I didn't even get a second set.

It's not that I don't like them they have never been installed.I was going fab up a custom shroud for them before installing them but haven't got around to it yet.
Now I just have other mods I'm working on plus I need some drag radials for one of my hot rods so I need $$.

He has troyer fans, but both of his controllers were defective and Troyer wanted $50 for each controller. He bought a Mad controller and said he's happy.

According to Rafa in his new Truck's Finished thread, he has a new single JDM fan with shroud.
