New f150 tows 11k pounds?
New f150 tows 11k pounds?
Keep seeing this ad on discovery tv that the f150 can tow over 11k pounds...
Otherwise you would have to drive two trucks ( with chevys in the background )
So it went up from 9500lbs??

Yep saw that too. At the Ford website it shows in the specs that a Reg. Cab 4x2 5.4L 144.5in wheel base w/4.10 axle can tow 11K lbs. But in the commercial it looks like that is a supercab that they are standing next to which has a maximum tow rating of 9500lbs.
In another commercial, Ford has Mike Roe (Dirty Jobs fame) saying that a F150 can carry a payload of 3060lbs. Ford's site list this as being true, but you need the superduty package to make it happen. Thats 1.5 tons in a 1/2 ton truck, go figure.

City folk. Hook up to the damn trailer and yank on it. It will pull it. Of course your not going to have record 0-60 times but heck, do semi's?

Funny thing is....i bet nobody here has ever tried to pull 11,000 lbs with the single cab long bed 4x2 verion either. Would i want to pull that much again as far as i did...no..hell no. But its not like the truck is going to fall apart from pulling that much. The frame, the frame, the frame...the 3 most important parts of the truck. Ours is the strongest. Yes, more power would be nice..real nice....but i dont plan on pulling that much weight accross country on a regular basis.
And for those who said with 6,000lbs of trailer weight you feel like the suspension is going to break........wtf are you smoking?? We pull 6-8,000 lbs of trailer weight very often working construction. Truck handles like a dream. The 00 pulls it well too, but the 04/05 trucks handle way better. (again, probably due to the frame).
