I say brakes, oh wait thats not on the list.
I would say they are more ghetto than ricey...but thats just me. However, the stock brakes are fine...these aren't car brakes, they are designed to stop the truck and what ever load your towing. So a few hundred extra pounds of rims isn't a huge deal (and I do know the difference of sprung and unsprung weight.) My truck has almost 36,000 miles (all but 500 of those running 24s) on it and the stock pads are still good. Bigger brakes with bigger offroad tires are more important because your stopping a much bigger circumference tire in addition to more weight than stock...but these low pro tires aren't that much taller than stock. So like I said I have never pretended this is a performance truck so I don't need hi-performance brakes...so as your said thats not on the list.

I have never liked or used those splice tabs either, but I figured you were probably against cutting the wires though. I would try swapping out the stocks first though to find out...chances are not all of the splices didn't make contact. It would be much easier to do now than before you hard wire the resistors in.

Well by the time your exercising I am in the bed anyway...sleeping. So I guess I will catch you a little later. I am curious though whats your opinion...does two more inches make much of a difference???

(I am talking about the rims of course! )

Not trying to sell them on here, but probably in he $2500 range. The tires have 2000 miles on them and the rims are perfect...plus they are mounted and balanced RIGHT. Mounting and balancing costs $240 here. I may just end up putting them on my wifey's Expy...but then again she wouldn't give a crap about them and just curb them up.

No pics but I have a buddy that had 26s on his and his is the reason I bought my truck...they were awsome. Its not a question of what size I want at all...nothing but 26s will do. I hate I went with 24s to start with....but 3 years ago 26s would have ran over $12K.

BTW what kind of 3rd Gen bird do you have? Besides my 02 Firehawk I have a 87 and a 92 Formula....and a 89 and 91 RS Camaro. My next project will probably be a LS1/IROC conversion.

Well ofcourse 2" makes a difference, but to be honest once you get past 24" they just look too big, but that's my opinion... I like the bigger tires and smaller/decent size rim... But to each his own.....

You wouldn't happen to have a Roush grille laying around do you, since you have so many

LOL...well thats what I want is TOO BIG. Really though I was just polishing the truck Sat and a rap song came on and he said something about candy paint and 26s and something about ho's and I was like oh man I need to get me some! LOL

Sorry, no Roush grille....never had one. I have had the stock Lariat grille (looked like *** on a solid black truck, a FX4 Grille (put it in and took it right back out), a black XLT grille (looked really good with the chrome surround), a black billet CW upper and lower (liked it too) and now a LT Grille with a HD suround. I am actually going to get the new Mark LT grille pretty soon I suspect...well at least as soon as I fine a deal on the new LT headlights.

glad someone picked up on the name and im also glad to see another f-body guy. i love firehawks and third gens. someday i would also like an lsx/iroc, defenatly one of my dream cars. i have a 91 firebird. plans are to get a completely aftermarket suspension setup and seats/harnesses this year and then start saving and planing for a motor swap.

Great looking car...those SS wheels look great on it. What suspension are thinking of going with...I used Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks with the factory WS6 sway bars, and BMR LCAs, Panhard rod and torque arm (and an IROC wonder bar) on my 87 and it handles awsome. I also did the 1LE brake conversion and a 9-bolt rear end. Like I said its set up to drive! If you ever need any help or parts (I have a ton of extra stuff!) let me know...I maybe able to help.
