If you're short on funds then go with Fabtech 6" and put a leveling kit on it and get your 8.5" even though Fabtech does not suggest this but I know there's quite a few people on here running this. I have half a skyjacker kit on my fabtech 6" and it sits me at about 7.5".

In summary:
8"=Rize
6"=Fabtech, Pro Comp, BDS

Is this with the spacer kit or the coil spring (stacking)? I am looking at a Pro Comp 6" and already have a 2.5 AS still in the box. Not enough funds for the Rize and tires. So, do I need to just pony up the dough and get the coil spring kit if I plan to stack them? Can I buy just the springs later or would it be better to get it all now?

If you want 6 inches, go with the RCD 6" kit. . you won't regret it.

Not quite sure what you mean by stacking but if you go with a 6" Fabtech (not sure about Pro Comp) then I would highly suggest going with a poly spacer kit over the AS kit because you can replace the bad oem rubber while you're at it with polyurethane and this will get you to 8.5". The fabtech kit reuses the oem coils so you'll be ok there, they just come with longer struts.

From the only Pro Comp kit I have seen, it had a huge spacer on top of the factory front coil and shock. But apparently you can get an optional kit that totally replaces the front suspension with new, longer coil overs. by stacking, I meant putting the AS or poly spacer on top of the spacer that Pro Comp supplies, or would this be like stacking blocks in the rear, it'll work, but not the best or safest setup.

Thumper, how does the RCD compare to the pro comp in price, install, included parts, and quality?

Sorry for so many questions, this will be my first lifted truck and don't want ANY surprises except good ones.

Thanks guys

also, why not just do a 6" suspension and a 3" body and get 9" instead of 8.5"?

Why go with a body lift when you can get all suspension lift? Body lifts look bad, they're hard to install and you've got to do all of the extensions perfect and keep an eye on the bolts to make sure they haven't loosened. Most shops won't install a body lift with a suspension lift because they'll be liable for the damages because the body lift and suspension people will blame it on the opposite party which leaves the shop liable if something goes wrong and no shops want that hanging over their head. I only use Pro Comp for the Super Duty lifts because they're good and very well priced. For the F150 looking through their master catalog they only showed pics of the MX6 setup but it doesn't sound like the best design with a big spacer on it but that's an opinion without seeing it I don't know for sure. There's a reason most everyone with a 6" has Fabtech on their truck and is what I install on 80% of the F150's that come in here so I'd say go with Fabtech if you're gonna put a poly leveling kit on it as well. If not then go with whoever you want.

where's the best place to get the Fabtech as far as price goes? I have seen the Pro Comp spacer setup in person and it seems to be a fairly inexpensive kit. These are the main two reasons I have been looking at the ProComp over the other kits.

When I ordered my Fabtech, I picked it up from 4wheelonline.com, which had the best price I could find. If you want to get 8" the cheapest I would say do a Fabtech performance lift, and then use a add-a-leaf in the back(2") and the autospring spacer on the front. That would put you up at 8.5".

Once you hit the add to cart button price goes way down on the 6" performance system
