buying F150- low mileage vs higher mileage

Hey, I am buying a 2004 or newer F150 soon. I am looking at most likely a Lariat crew 4x4. I was wondering what some of your opinions may be on buying one with around 30,000 miles vs. one with about 70,000 miles. Thanks for any input.

Yeah man, I see no real purpose in going for the higher mileage trucks, unless you just absolutely can't afford a low mileage one. By buying the high mileage truck, you don't really save much money if any, because you'll lose money on resale when you get rid of the truck in the future due to the higher mileage.

The mileage you buy depends on what you are going to do with the vehicle. As has been said, high miles kills the value when you sell or trade (that's why you buy it much cheaper). A high mileage well maintained late model vehicle will go a very long way with few problems. If you're going to keep it a long time and drive a moderate number of miles, a higher mileage vehicle can be a good choice. I bought my wife my 2 year old company car (Ford Escape) with 73,000 miles on it. She as had it over 4 1/2 years and it now has 97,000 trouble free miles on it. It still looks new and it is still worth about what I paid for it as a high mileage fleet car (I kept it in really good condition at company expense).

If you drive a lot of miles or plan on trading in a very few years, you would be better off buying a lower mileage vehicle.
