I did it on my 04 FX4 while I had it. I put the blocks back in when I traded the truck.

Can I still haul something with it?

If I remove the 2 in blocks. Can I still haul something with it? I have a KFX 700 Quad. She only weights 500 pounds. I don't care if she sags a little when I carry it. I just don't want to create some drivetrain problem by doing this.

Yes, you can haul just as much after you pull the blocks as you could before.
There is a small ear or horn on the side of the blocks that the bump stops bottom out on. When you remove the blocks, the stops bottom out on the axle tubes. So if you have 8" of travel before, you will have 8" of travel after.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what that long horn shaped piece was for.

Sorry to bring up an old thread....

I am planning to remove the blocks from my FX2 as it has a terrible rake and even an inch would help. Would I need to buy regular 4x2 U-bolts since my truck is equipped with blocks or can I use my OEM ones? Just wondering because if I need to buy them I would like to go ahead and do it to have them ready to go.

I would buy them anyway and have them on hand just in case, they're only $40 for the set. If you don't need them, you can always take them back.

The only reason you need 2wd u-bolts after removing the blocks on a 4x4 is because there is not enough threads to reuse the old bolts.

Definitely get the 2WD u-bolts. It will make the job easier and it is the right way to do it. That is how I did mine.

if you got a FX2, then yours is only a 4x2 and there is no blocks?

You'll have to get some lowering shackles instead.

I don't think so. Wierd for them to add them to the 2wd '07's. Maybe to make leveling the front look better.
