Resale value for 2004 F150 / Ram 1500 / CK 1500

Hello all. I just got through having an interesting conversation with a friend. We were debating which of the big three has the worst resale value. I've looked online and I can't find a whole lot. The closest thing is Kelly Blue Book and NADA which puts Ford as the highest value assuming all equally trimmed, but we all know that dealers don't put much if any stock in those values. So, are there any dealers or just well informed owners who wouldn't mind weighing in on this thread? The trucks in question are the 2004 F150 4x4 supercrew lariat with approx 40,000 miles and similiarly equipped Chevy/GMC and Dodge.

It's going to vary by location (zip code), truck equipment, and whether or not you are trading it in or selling private party. It will be pretty close and vary time to time, so you can't really claim a true winner for 100% sure every time. I would think the Ford would be above the Dodge for sure though, and most likely the Chevy too in most cases.

It has a lot to do with what type of dealership that you take it too. When I was getting ready to trade in my old F150 I was thinking about getting a Chevrolet,I know, What the he#@ was I thinking. While I was looking at the one that I had picked out the sales manager went out and looked at my truck to trade. He came back and told me that he would give me 8,000 for it. It was then that I came back to my senses and went to the Ford dealership 3 blocks down the road and they gave me 14,000 for my old truck. Morale of the story, Stick with Ford dealerships b/c all the other ones will just screw ya.
