hey btw how was your mileage either before or after the removing of the blocks?
im wondering if i would get better mileage because theyre bigger than my wheels now

Don't know, I had the blocks out 20 mins after i got home. I used to have my 05 leveled, but I didn't like the angle of the uca, so I took it out and lowered the back instead then I just transfered the 2wd u-bolts to the 07 when I got it.

I've got a set of the OEM's on mine now and think I'm going to go with an aftermarket wheel. Anyway I've listed them in the classified and on craigslist. I'm in the Atlanta GA area so I'd prefer pickup instead of shipping. I've got the FX4 caps with the fake lugs and a set of KingRanch Caps, the buyer can take his pick.
later,
Mike

05RedFX4,
Thanks for posting that picture, I have been contemplating lowering my 4X4 in the rear vs the AS front spacers. Your picture has confirmed that dropping the rear is the way to go for the stance I am wanting to achieve. Now a couple questions: I have already purchased but not installed a drop shackle kit. Did you obtain that stance by just removing the bed spacers? ( I may be selling my kit!) Also did you mention that the U-bolts have to be replaced?
That picture has also now swayed me towards the 20" rims.... I was shopping around for some 18's but I really like the way that wheel looks with that stance. Do you think there is room for a 285/55-20 tire since it has been lowered? Also does any body know a source for BFG AT in that size?
Thanks

What I did was to remove the rear 2" blocks that are between the leaf springs and the axle housing. the U-bolts I mentioned are 2wd u-bolts (the 4x4 u-bolts are too long after you remove the blocks) that you can get from any dealer or online parts vendors for about 50 bucks for all 4, just get the standard duty ones unless you have the heavy duty payload package, then get the HD ones. My tires are 275-55-20 so a 285-55-20 should fit with no problems, and the front has not been lowered, it is stock height.

I have an 06 with the stock 20" rims and pirelli tires and hate the tires. This is my first time owning pirelli tires and it will be my last. They don't do well in snow and if the truck sits over night they get flat spots and vibrate so bad the first 5 miles down the road it will make you think something is major wrong with the truck. The dealer tried everything and said it's the nature of the tire. So this spring I will be upgrading to new after market rims and tires. I still can't believe the dealer never offered up a new set of tires to see if the problem went away.

I've had cars sit for 2 weeks and get in them and drive down the road no problem. My current truck sits over night and has flat spots crazy.
