the chop was most likely caused by an alignment issue, which is directly affected by all the spacers-
if you don't keep the truck well-aligned, at a more regular interval than normally due, problems will arise

I had sheets showing the alignment specs, and now that I rotated the tires after I took the spacer off, the chopping stopped. And when I put the spacer on it was a matter of about a month before I noticed it happening. Not sure why, not really bad but it was noticeable.

1. 2.5" Autospring (new off-set)
2. ~8K miles
3. FX4 18' stock GY ATS (Ready for new shoes!)
4. No problems

I paid ~$80 shipped directly from Autospring and installed it myself. Pretty easy install IMO. But, I did the Skyjacker AAL in the same day. I was happy with my final product, but the AAL wasn't as easy as the Autospring IMO.

There has been much debate about the 2" vs. the 2.5" and the problems that the 2.5" may have. We haven't seen any recent posts about problems with either. Some of you have got to be getting quite a few miles on your trucks. I am starting to get my mods piled up for the arrival of the new truck and I am undecided on which A.S. to get. Even if you know someone that has a 2.5" and has had problems, let us know.
Hopefully this will be a usefull thread for others in the future.
#1. Autospring 2.5" new style / offset.
#2. 20,000
#3. 285/70R17 BFG ATs soon to be 305/70R17 Maxxis Buckshots unless BFG comes out with a 305/70R17 MT before I buy my mud tires...
These are on 17x9" Pro Comp 1089s with a 4.75" backspacing. There are some guys running 35x12.50/17s on stock wheels with this setup and it works fine too. But do NOT go with 9" rims with a tire that tall. The 305/70s from what I can tell, is as big as you can go.
#4. No problems so far. I expect the ball joints to wear faster than stock, am am keeping an eye on them. When I have to replace them I will upgrade to a greasable fitting type.
#5. (The added request from further down) I paid about $90.00 with shipping. I understand they are even cheaper now.

Like I said, I expect to go through ball joints faster than I would have stock, but the gained ground clearance, for the expected wear / tear on the ball joints is well worth the money and effort. The largest tire size you can comfortably fit with this setup and actually go off road with is a mere 1" shorter and .1" narrower than a 35x12.50 that so many guys are putting 6" lifts on to clear. The reason I stay with my leveling kit is to keep a lower overall roof height while still having ground clearance provided by the tires. That way I can still park downtown Houston, AND use the truck on my hunting trips.

If you mean chop as in cupping or feathering, then you have a serious imbalance, or alignment issue. Not the fault of the leveling kit. I would be prone to thinking the alignment is not happy if I saw feathing, and if it is cupping, that is caused by balance induced wheel hop...

Oh yeah, and this is what a Supercab looks like with a 2.5" AS, 17x9 Pro Comps, and 285/70R17s
