I love mine, except I can't seem to get the speedo right. It's off by 5 mph (fast) currently just using an online tire circumferance calculator (where you input your tire soec size, and it spits out a circumferance in MM). I'm an honest man, but I think I'll low ball the speedo for about 10k to compensate for the insanely rapid way I've been racking up miles. BTW, yes, this tuner could be used to commit ODO fraud...

When I went in to see the tire diameter it showed a diameter that would have been about 2 sizes smaller than what is on my truck, and I have the FX4 18" whls w/ the stock 275/65/18's. I wonder if ford had my truck's pcm programmed for a smaller size or if the Edge is acting flaky.

I had the service manager at my local Ford Dealer tell me that they can see in the computer that you had a tuner even if you return to stock and remove the tuner. I don't know if he was telling me that to scare me from buying one or what.

The values that are in the custom options for gear ratio and tire size are NOT read from the PCM, they are place holder values put there by EDGE and may not be correct for your particular truck. These values must be set by the user to the correct information for your truck.

Thanks for the info bro
Now my fuel gage is acting funny, either that or there is a magic gas ferry in my truck because last night I was at/under 3/4 of a tank and this morning it showed full then when I shut the truck off and started it again it stayed on E.
I think my truck is haunted or the tuner is playing tricks. I love the power but the quirks have got to go. Windows also intermittently working along with the wipers.

The gas gauge did it to my truck w/o the EDGE and the other problems DO NOT sound edge related. I'd maybe get that checked out before things get worse Good Luck with it

The edge will alert you before any overheating occurs, at whatever temperature you want to be alerted at. It pays for itself there imo. I would constantly overheat with my troyer xcal2 and troyer efan's that wouldn't do their job. Good luck.

Personally, I am much happier with the Edge over the Troyer tuned XCal2, both performance wise and value wise. I can't see why someone would take the XCal2 over the Edge unless they were supercharged or cammed and needed custom tuning, then the XCal2 is for you. The so called custom tuning was inferior if anything to the edge's 0-60 performance, and all around town driving.

Good luck with your decision.

So... you've had BOTH on the same vehicle? (Sorry if I am asking a dumb question here, I am trying to be clear in what I understand...)

Correct. I sold the $440 Troyer XCal2 for $100 to A N T H O N Y on here, I think it was. I didn't even want the Edge for the gauges, I thought they looked tacky in pictures. I'm glad I was wrong. Those gauges are lifesavers, well the warning system is. I hated the way my pedal felt while running the XCal2, power was nowhere to be found unless it was @ Wide open throttle. I couldn't stand that. The Troyer tunes would cause it to shift @ 3000rpms at minimum just driving around town. I showed this to A N T H O N Y and he himself was surprised, who is also a tuner. Maybe I have an isolated case, but even @ WOT the Edge seems to have a harder pull. I can now downshift @ 45mph, rather than just 40mph on 37's and 3.73's. Granted, I have applied a combination of Weazel's and Bluejay's custom tuning (thanks).

woah!

That contradicts what I thought was the whole point of truely custom tunes...

I imagined an XCal2 getting more power throughout the entire rpm range... off-idle on up.

I second that murray330.

I'm ready to drop the hammer on this purchase today. It would be nice to get the 10% discount, but I'm not waiting another day. The cheapest price I can find is $350 delivered from Discount Power Parts--without coupon code of course.
