The monster bow is for the 4r100 only. They have been getting very bad feed back from the Lightning community. Just do a search. They are junk now that Gregg does not hand build them anymore.

just thought i would give an update...

spoke to the dealership guy yesterday after a couple days of hearing nothig, and now he is saying that the cost for repairs is looking more like $2200... they are saying that there are many parts that need replacing, and that they are basically going to have to rebuild my tranny. i find this a little difficult to believe, especially when they originally told me that it was is pretty good condition.

for less money, i could have dropped in a a totally remanufactured tranny. im really starting to hate dealerships more and more every time i take my truck to one... this is the 2nd dealership ive taken this truck to and have been lied to and treated poorly at both. at the dealership where i bought my truck, they wanted to charge me like $200+ to do the rear brakes. when i asked him "why so much?" he said it was beacause "the GT-F150 takes high performance brake pads"

sorry, just needed to vent a little. they said my truck should be ready by the end of the week, so ill post back when i get it back...

Never let a dealership touch modified vehicles such as yours. UNLESS you know the person that will work on your truck....

Your best bet would have been to take it to a custom tranny builder that builds race trannys. There are a few out there that if something they caused messed it up, it will be fixed for free.

I think mine is about to sing its last song. When that happens im taking it to John Gobel.

Sorry to hear about your luck. Just an FYI, my friends brother, who works at at a transmission shop said that the most common cause of transmission damage/failure is overheating. After your repair/replacement you might look at a transmission cooler to help battle the heat generated from all that extra power you have, if you don't already have one installed. They're cheap, and if they add life to the transmission....bingo.

i never thought about trying to find a high performance type tranny shop. i had doubts about taking it to an average shop because it being an electronic tranny and all, and thought that the dealer techs would have a better understanding of the 4r75e... i doubt that this will be the last transmission or engine work i have done to the truck, and if something happens in the future, hopefully ill be in a financial position where i can do everything right.

my truck did come with the factory tranny cooler, but i might invest in a tranny temp guage so i can at least monitor the temps. i already ordered my 4.10 gears so hopefully that will cut down on the constant shifts in and out of overdrive. when i get those installed, im going to get a custom tune and hopefully get rid of the harsh shifting. with all these i hope to avoid problems at least for the short term...

The trannys are still basicly an aod-e.. There isnt much to them.

I cant beleive your tranny bit the dust with only 300rwhp.

$3509 for parts and labor for a new transmission, i just got mine done about 2 weeks ago. Which was cheaper than havin them tear apart my old one and replace whatever it was i destroyed(everyones best guess was a shattered valve body). On top of that, you get a better warranty on the transmission if they install new vise rebuilding yours.

Dealership rebuild = 1 year, 12k miles

Installed New = 3 year, 75k miles

Hopefully yours wont be as costly as mine.

neither can i. when i questioned the dealer as to how this couldve happened, all he could come up with was that i had a supercharger. i told him that these trannys are supposed to be able to take alot more power than i have, but it was basically a pointless conversation.

i now wish i wouldve dropped in a new one. the dealer quoted me a price of around $3000 to install a remanufactured tranny. i didnt really want to spend that much, and when they told me $1500-$1700 to repair it i went for that. but at $2200+ now, i wouldve rather replaced it myself for $2000 or have them do it for $3000 and give me a 3 yr. warranty. thats why i so pissed...

Same thing happened to me about 3 months ago and my girlfriends brother works for Ford and he found a piston went bad and burned up the Direct cluch there is a Tech. Service Bulliten (TSB) about it I will have to find it and get some pics to you. and the part end up being at cost about 200 and he fixed it and I helped him for 500 and he said that any where else would have been $2500-$3000 so I made out pretty good

ok well i got the truck back today and it seams to be ok... i find myself driving it now scared of breaking something.

oh well, 4.10 gears go in this weekend soon to be followed by a custom tune. all this has got me thinking about my motor and how long its going to last... i think im going to start collecting parts for a new built motor, forged rods, pistons, cam, springs etc... hopefully, i will get another 2 years at least out of this motor, but you never know...

i talked to the dealer today and they said that it was an internal tranny problem and would probably cost $1500-$1700 to fix depending on what they found. since they will provide a 1 year warranty on their work, im going to let them do it. ill post back when then tell me what they found...
They do have a MonsterBox for the 4R75W but the Total Domination Torque Converter for that transmission is a trashed single plate. Just look what happened to Rafa26 !

yup put my 4.10's in about 3 weeks ago myself... holding up good so far with about 1500 miles since the install.

its amazing how they wake up the truck. its like a night and day difference!!

the only down side is that now my speed limiter kicks in at like 85-90 mph... i get up there fast as hell, but then i watch a kia pass me by doing 95 and theres nothing i can do about it :o

i just got my xcal 2 in from troyer today to do the datalogging and will be getting a custom tune and getting rid of that dam governor
