hi everyone!! need some help! heres the deal, my truck normaly gets around 14.5 to 15.8 mpg , depending on if its in town or on highway, however the last couple of weeks it has been around 10.2 mpg! yikes! any suggestions on what the heck is goin on! p.s i did check to see if there were any dtc codes and nothing! i have in the past been doing alot of tuning, changing fuel,timing etc. also at idle i have notice a very slight miss! so having said all that any ideas and thoughts will be greatly appreciated! stay warm!

 

lol, i get around 9-11 in town, and about 15-16 on the highway during the summer. not sure if FLA has it, but do you have winter blend fuel? (higher ethanol content than typical gas) if so, that could definitely be the culprit- emissions wise it burns cleaner, but you lose mpg with it. we run winter blend from October till the end of March so my mpg always sucks 10 town, 13 highway. other than that, maybe you just got a crappy tank of gas, fill'r up somewhere else next time....

 

I was going to say winter blend too, but the miss has me thinking Coil on Plug going bad?

 

are these numbers your getting being calculated the old fashoned way? dont rely on the numbers your edge gives you or even the message center if you have that option. there not even close to accurate

 

I honestly don't know, but I get 9-11 mpg usually (5.4 Fx4 Scab). I drive 90% city. Or maybe I just need to keep my foot of the gas.
