Front end alignment with lift and oversized tires?

I put my lift on about 7K Mi. ago and got the front end aligned afterwards. Now it is out of wack and my tow in is off I can tell because my tires are leaning in now at the top. Is this normal for it to go out of alignment that soon? I have done some offroading and hill and rock climbing so im sure that is a contributing factor.
  • Anyone else having this problem?
  • How much is a front end alignment supposed to cost?
  • How long should your alignment stay in specs?
  • Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening again after re-alignment?

Alignments normally 50-70, I throw weights a lot but don't have any tow issues. Do you have a leveling kit along with your lift kit?

No just the kit(6"spacer, dropped crossmember, extended spindles)

This has been a common problem from what I've seen. The lift manufacturers make the lower dropouts from such thick material (trying to make them stronger) that the camber adjustment bolt can't squeeze them tightly against the lower pivot bushings. This seems to cause unusual squeeks and allow the alignment to slip out of adjustment too easily.

I have the same problem. Inside wear is obvious but I'm not complaining. I just need to realign.

How many miles do you have on your alignment currently? I know you offroad yours also...

I just had an alignment done on my truck with only about 4,000 miles on the lift/tires. Anytime you put these big of tires on a truck with stock suspension the smallest little ruts can knock your wheels outta line.

its gonna be hard to get your truck in perfect specs if the truck tires are too wide to get onto the alignment rack. There are ways to get it back to specs, but its more "primative" "old school" technology. but chances are they are gonna find a excuse to tell you that its gonna cost more

Yea the guy who did my alignment after the lift was awsome... He has been doing aligments since the early 70's mainly on vintage jag's he said... He knew all of the tricks of the trade and has followed the technology since the 70's... I guess it's time to pay the old man a visit.
