Dyno tune this week

Hey guys remember last week how I had my PCM reflashed, well I decided if I gotta get it retune might as well get dyno, now I live 4 hours from where I am getting it tune, is it worth the drive to get a dyno graph? (they tuned the Ford GT40 with the twin turbos over 1100hp with SCT software) I dont trust anyone around Palm Beach FL, I have Volant, helix spacer and magnaflow, should I go for it or wait till I get the E-fan n mass air? another thing is what are most of you about paying for one dyno tune? is 350 to much or good?

Hi.

If by 'mass air' you mean you are putting on a non-factory/larger MAF unit, you'll need another retune.

Wait until you have added all your mods - actually, putting on the MAF too soon & you'll be running God-know-what A/f's, if it runs right at all....

It's really not gonna buy you a thing - why are you changing it? Also, the Helix is a paperweight. Useless.
And the Volant chokes above 4000 rpm or so. Sorry.

Cheers
Bubba

We all wish we had 270rwhp stock with all your goodies you MAY have around 230 rwhp if your lucky. These truck usually dyno around 220 stock "sometimes less" unless you have some weird factory freak. Your best performance gains w/o forced induction are going to be a tuner and gears. be carefull with running lean with CAI. Id wait till u get everything on before you spend money on Dyno, that way you can check your A/F ratio to see how lean she is running. hope this helps.

P.S.- 350$ how many dyno runs and how much tunning time??

sorry bout that, im really interested in seeing what mods can get you to 300rwhp w/o having to get a forced induction system. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a blower are not??? I dont know much about adding power to these trucks so any help is great.

Hi.

And as you can see, FX4 Matt is doing it using the correct mods, not just any mods, among them:

> Xcal2 - TP's custom tunes - NOT a canned tuner,& NOT just any custom tunes
> Magnaflow & high-flow cats - NOT FartMaster
> AF1 3.5" - NOT Volant ( choke choke)
> long-tubes
> efans
> NO Helix TB spacer paperweight

Bravo Matt

Oh, and gears do NOT give you one iota more power on a dyno, period.

And 05_F150? - sorry, wishful thinking on your numbers Sounds like you are just adding up claimed HP numbers on paper - does not work that way in the real world, even if you are from Florida (whatever the hell that means anyway - good grief).

Tell you what why don't ya bolt up a couple Turdonators as well, and an electric S/C? To complement your paperweight mod. Jeez - 400 HP - Wow! You do seem to like & trust the paperweight mods.

If you had a lick of sense, you'd do the actual research firsthand. Also, attending some night classes for sentence structure & grammar may help some folks understand you, bud.

I agree - a blower would be very sweet - my piggybank is working OT on the requisite $6000 as we speak

Search the C&P forum, and you'll find that stock 04+ 5.4's usually come in @ 205-210 rwhp, depending on drive system, etc. With just tuning, intake & exhaust (again, the correct choice of components, as above), some folks have seen 250+ rwhp, and more importantly, 325+ rwtq, on a 4x4. Good numbers indeed.

Thanks for the BS - it was entertaining !

Cheers
Bubba
