What exactly is that suppose to do? Is it just a giant magnet on the oil filter to catch metal in your oil?

they have a few pics of cut open filters looks like it works to me.

All I have to say about them is this...Any good oil filter will catch all that crap the magnet is suppose to.

Your probably right since I use a K&N gold filter I should be good to go.
