Truck dident start in cold weather

So, I havent used my truck in three days, and its been sitting outside on the driveway. Someone in my family also unplugged it for some reason. Its been around -35 celcius the whole week here in winnipeg, and was -30 tonight when i went to start it, and it dident even come close to starting. I also have the towing package so my truck has the larger battery. I expected that it wouldent start easy, but its been unplugged in alot of cold weather before and has always started, seemed odd too me.

Did it turn over at all or just just click? Having it sit for 3 days unplugged in the frigid temps we've had lately I wouldn't expect any vehicle to start. I would say the battery is weak from sitting. Remember there is always a draw on the battery by the PCM to maintain memory. In this cold it doesn't take much to drain the battery down to a point where it won't start the truck.

Put a charger on it for a few hours then try again, I bet she fires right up.

I've always thought of Motocraft batteries to be one of the better OEM brands. My last truck, a 98 F-150, had the original when I traded it in 6 years later with no problems. I live in Wisconsin and the truck sits outside every winter. Just check the battery condition and charge if it's needed.

They are some of the best on the market. What kills the OEM battery is when the vehicle sits for months on the lot in the heat and cold without being started. Then one day someone buys the vehicle and 6 months later the battery craps out. That's why when you store a battery it's a good idea to keep a trickle charger on it so it stays healthy.

I find that really hard to beleive that Motorcraft batteries are some of the best in the market when I got my first F150 a 2001 Screw 4x4 in 2004 that battery was gone when I got that truck now my 2005 FX4 Screw I just got last August that battery just took a crap on me so they dont last that long or its just my luck. FYI I heard from a BMW tech a few years back there are only 3 battery manufacturers in the world and I doubt Ford make their own batteries so chances are these batteries are low end.

Did you read my entire post or just the part you wanted to comment on? What kills the battery prematurely is the fact the vehicles sit for weeks/months on the dealers lot without being started. Motorcraft batteries are no worse or better then any other aftermarket battery you can buy, with the exception of specialty batteries like Optima.
