Information cluster and steering wheel control questions

Quick questions.

First, my information cluster in my dash shows my average MPG. Well I hit a button (don't remember which one) and it seems to be showing "instant" gas mileage. So if I floor it drops, if I go easy it goes way up. It's not just showing the average. Just wondering how to switch it back.

Next question is with my radio controls on the steering wheel. Specifically my "memory" button. If I push the left hand side it switchs between fm1, fm2, and am. If I push the right side of the button it "seeks". Is there any way to switch this so I can cycle through my preset stations instead. I'd rather use the steering wheel controls instead of the reaching over to the radio. THe manual seems to say that it can do this, but it didn't say how to switch it.

Thanks!

Hey goldmember

The button you hit was the reset button. When you hit the reset on the MPG screen, it clears your average MPG and gives you instant. After you've driven over a few miles it will begin to give you your average again. The more miles you drive the more average it gets until it you hit the reset again. I have no clue about the radio presets. I've been trying to find out how to switch between radio seek and preset seek myself. I remember reading that you could do it but haven't read how to do it. I might be missing it somewhere.

Thanks. I must have been impatient and when I kept hitting reset the mileage kept changing and I thought something wasn't right.

Now to solve the radio issue. Anyones else?

I found this thread

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ontrols+preset

Seems half can scan presets and other half it "seeks". Why would they do this? The last post in that thread says you have to change the "autoprogram" feature. How the heck do you do that?
