How should the cowling fit??

I just got my 06 Screw back from the dealer. I had the plastic cowling that sits below the windshield wipers between the hood and windshield replaced because it would not stay locked in position. Now I am not sure it is right. The passenger side fits nicely bleow the line of the hood with a nice gap between the hood and the plastic cowling. But the drivers side sits much higher. It actually touches the hood, and is a bit higher than the hood. Can someone look at theirs and see if this is correct. It seems to me that the entire cowling should sit below the hood, and have some clearance to open the hood and not rub.

The cowling should be the same on both sides. It should not rub the hood at all anywhere. It sounds like they don't have it clipped in place on the drivers side. Is the end near the fender all the way down? If it is the center only that is not down then you have the same problem that you had before. I didn't bother taking mine to the dealer for this problem. I simply opened the hood and installed 1 stainless steel screw in the front of the cowl just behind the weatherstripping. It holds everything in place perfectly and is not seen at all. Sometimes taking simple fixes like this back to the dealer result in a much worse condition. I have fixed several friends F-150's with the same problem. THey have had no problems with them to date.

Open your hood and look at where the two cowl pieces meet. The one cowl slides into the other cowl by the hood gasket, it could be sitting on top of the fastener causing it to sit to high
