Question style side or flare side

Hey guys,

I've been looking at getting an '04 for some time now (every time i think i can finally afford one something else comes along to screw up my plans ) anyway now is finally the time and i've always thought i wanted a style side, then i saw a flareside FX4 yesterday at the dealership and i'm not sure now, it looks damn good. Are there any issues i may want to know that would help me decide either way, like accessory availability etc? thanks

I love the look of the flareside,I havent noticed any issues with having flareside. So I just think its just what you would prefer. The step comes in handy at times too And congrats on your future truck. Looking forward to seeing what you get

I'm partial to flareside myself.

flareside.

If I want to look at vast flat areas of boring nothingness, I'll cross the river and drive across Iowa. The flareside has personality, the "style" side has no style.

I personnally am partial to FS. My FX4, Ranger, Lightning were all FS. You will give up a little cubic inches in the bed. Dont get me wrong I have seen some good looking stylesides on the road but I think the different style tail lights, stepped rear bumper, composite bed, the tailgate is rolled out a bit towards the top which I like all those differances and I like how a lifted FS with wide wheels looks from the back also, and of course the Lightning.
The only think I dont like about these FS is the tie downs. I have no use for them, didnt like the look so I removed them but I wish Ford would have keeped the sides smooth up there. That is my only gripe.
My 2 pennies.

In the 04+ models I would definitely go with a styleside. The angles of the new truck are much more square and I think the flare side bed kind of clashes.
In the 97-03 body style I much prefer the flaresides though. I owned a 98 flareside.
Just go with what you like. It's your truck. You don't have to please anyone but yourself.

+1 on that. You also get more cargo space with the styleside!

Love my Flareside, but I wanted some fender flares to cover bigger tires and they don't make any for the flare side.
