I found the Silverstars don't make a huge difference in town, but if you live out in the sticks like I do there is a huge difference.

Silverstars are the best and cheapest legal headlights by far. You could spend more for direct HID replacements, and blind everyone (for sure) while risking (slim chance, most places) a ticket. Some people have invested big money for correct HID housing retrofits that work correctly. That said, blue sucks for inclement weather without the intensity of HID. Yellow is better in rain and fog. Amber is the best in that kind of weather.

Exactly my thought. I tried a blue headlight. They looked good, but in the rain.. You might as well not have them on. It was like the water dropplets soaked up the light output..

Seriously though, if you get them, be careful in the rain.

I was gonna get some Silverstar's for my truck, but I had bought a pair for our Mini Cooper S and they did not last long at all, maybe 4 months. So I did not feel like spending the extra dough on them for the truck. However, I was thinking of trying the Ultra's when they come out (I think later on this year). Has anyone tried any of the PIAA bulbs? I had some in an 01 Montero and they looked good and had nice output (I think they were called plasmas or something). They were pricey too, I think more than the silverstars. Anyhow, I have not checked to see if PIAA makes our size bulbs, I am assuming no, since no one has mentioned them.
