Why F150, Chevy Has The Bigger Motor

Just for the record, I,m not trying to start any brand wars. Personally I like anything but dodges. The fact that the Chevy has the bigger motor doesen't have to be the reason for you, but what is?

e.x./ family brand loyalty, maybe your dad used to have one and no matter what happened it was always reliable? Lets hear it.

And just for laughs , how many of you would get the new Chevy 1500 with the Vortec MAX 6000?

I've actually already seen a Silverado with the billet grille, it looks pretty awsome. But now what I'd like to know is why you bought the F150?

I'd settle for my F150 with a 6 speed over the 6.0.
I like the F150, like ford products and I have had good reliability with all of the ford vehicles that I have had.

Why I chose ford over other full size trucks.
1) I like it.
2) 6.5 box on a crew 1/2.
3) Bigger crew than regular crew dodge
4) 35.7 gallon tank available.
5) Race car is a ford.

The reason that I haven't ordered a new truck yet is because I'm waiting to see what comes of the HD silverado or the 1500 in the next few weeks. Plus I'm thinking about buying a fifth wheel. Needless to say, an F150 or Chevy 1500 won't tow one of those too comfortably.

I have a friend with an 06' 1500 6.0 Supercab (whatever chevy calls'em), it pulls pretty good but my buddy in his lowered 05' chevy w/22's and 5.3 beats her in almost every gear.

I think the Ford is the best truck 'all around' hands down. I also had a Ford Ranger before my F150 and I LOVED LOVED LOVED that truck, so it only made sense to go with an F150.

I also think Ford has the best styling by far on their vehicles/trucks, so that is a big reason.

UMMMM lets see, Fords owned...
96 Taurus.. still have it and drive it back and forth to work. My son gets it in March.
96 Ranger 4.0 4x4 ext cab..... 187,000 when traded. Still ran and looked brand new. Never had one problem.
97 Expedition EB 4x4..... 197,000 when traded in. Still smoked the tires from dead stop. Still looked brand new, still drove like new. Never had any problems.
04 F-150 Screw Lariat 4x4.... bought with 19,000 on it. Has 38,000 on it now, not one single problem. I tow 8500# on a reg basis without problems.
Family...
05 F-250 PSD.... traded in Jan for 06 F-350 PSD. NEver had a single problem. Towed 14,000 on a reg basis
87 Cougar.... never a single problem in 78,000 miles
02 F-250 Screw 4x4 V10.... no problems
97 Explorer, 200,000 miles transfer case replaced.
2 02 Expeditions 4x4..... 100,000 no problems
03 F-150 Screw 4x4 Lariat, 42,000 miles.... no problems,still on original tires!
gee.... I don't know. Maybe because I have no problems with Fords in about 1/2 million miles. Chevy was decent until the mid 80's and then I lost interest. The interiors suck and the styling is dated

It ain't all about the number of HP...if it was, Ford wouldn't sell a single truck as they have the least power of the 6 full size trucks (Ford, Dodge, Chevy, GMC, Nissan, and now Toyota). Ford has a better total package (this includes price) than the others, hence the reason they sell so many...best selling for 30 straight years. Ford does have a very reliable engine in the 5.4...One of Ward's 10 Best several times.

I bought my F150 for several reasons:
1) Past experience with Fords. My family and I have had great luck with Ford's with very few issues.
2) Towing: I tow approximately 5,500 lbs with my F150, and the strong, heavy frame make towing a breeze with this truck.
3) Ford (IMHO) trucks have the best interior and exterior styling on the market (subjective of course)
4) I've been a fan of Fords my entire life. Unless they treat me wrong, I probably will continue for the rest of my life. I bleed Ford blue. (I'm sure some will flame for this, but hey, that's the way I feel and I don't care what anyone else says).

Because GM trucks, regardless of what updates and revisions they've had have always felt crude to me. I like to look at a vehicle as an overall package, not just one specific area like the powertrain or interior or whatever.

Growing up I worked alot of manual labor with a lot of different trucks. I had prblems with all of them except for Fords. May have just been the particular trucks I was in. I had wanted a Ford Truck since I was in elementary school. I also dislocated my sholder when the brakes went out in a GMC I was plowing with, and almost caused a major accident when the gas got stuck in a Chevy.
Got my 95 250 in 01 and my 06 150 in July.

I bought my ford over a chevy because it will clear 37's with a 6in lift and Chevy's wont but since I have owned my F-150 I love it.

Simple. Ford has the overall package, I'm not trying to build a race truck.
