2008 F-150????

When do we start getting some news on the '08 F-150? I havent seen anything on it yet. And how about the new engine Boss 6.2?? Its only a year away I would have thought there would be some news by now.

The 08 F150 will be unchanged...the 09 is supposed to be redesigned...all model years are released in the previous year, 09 in fall of 08, etc...

I suspect little will be leaked other than what we already have because they want to sell 08s and not have everybody waiting for 09s...the only ligitimate info we have is that it's getting a 6 speed transmission and a diesel engine option...as you mention, there has also been talk about a 6.2 L engine as well...

Everyone who's jumping ship for a few HP will probably be swimming their butts off to get back on...

That picture is an artist rendering of what it might look like and is definately not the new F150. All that picture is, is a Ford Edge converted into a pickup.

I know however that 3 bar grille on a different front cap on the same truck would be all it needs for looks...

Regardless, the F150 designers have done an excellent job the last two redesigns...I'm betting they won't go south with this one...

Hey negative Nancy, how many years was the Ford out before Chevy redesigned their new truck? Oh... but Toyota, oh wait, oh well gee... guess it depends how you look at things, now doesn't it?

Ford was the first to do a MAJOR redesign and everyone else just copied them. What do you expect Ford to do, completely re-design the F150 every 3 years?

i'd say they know what they are doing, by releasing new styles in other years opposite of other manufacturers. Just look at 04/05. Not too many trucks came out with redesigns. The titan from nissan was still new enough that they couldn't justify a redesign.

Chevy and Toyota just redesigned theirs. Now it will be at least two or three years before they go for a redesign, unless they just don't sell. When Ford releases their redesign, it will be pretty big and by concept pictures will be a huge release.

The did however redesign the SuperDuty for 08 because they have seen an upshot in superduty sales, so to keep the faithful around, the redesigned.

Regardless, by concept drawings, I think the 09 will be a huge change and I'll definitely be thinking about trading.

From what I have read here and elsewhere it will be a 4.4liter V8 possibly based on a Rover design.
