Train Horns?
Funny how kids can justify mods that they don't directly, or indirectly don't pay for...
Lifted trucks don't need train horns...they need better brakes...Talk them into spending (or helping you save) $1500+ for upgrading your brakes instead...
Look me in the eyes and tell me you will only use the horns in a realistic emergency situation...But first, be honest with yourself...really.
I don't really care if you get the horns...I'm not going to lose any sleep if you do, but, like I said, opinions were asked, and opinions were given...

Was this directed toward me? If so I can tell you I am probably older than you and can asure you I make my own money to spend on what ever the hell I want to.
I will readily admit I use my horns 99.99999% of the time in a non-"realistic emergency situation". But I also dont go to those joke *** car shows were talking about either. The way I look at it is blue wire loom and a teddy bear on the front seat dont make a POS a show car...and thats 90% of what you see at those shows.

I never said that I was going to be using this in an emergency situation. Everyone here knows what I'm going to be using these for, it's not that hard to figure out.
Anyways, I'm glad you won't lose any sleep. I would really hate for that to happen. However on my last note, I never asked for opinions on the horns but rather information to point me in the right direction to get some horns and to get them mounted.
Have a good day, sir.

Thump, if I were you I would build your own setup. That is what I am going to do. Pretty much all the parts can get be purchased individually on ebay. If you buy a bigger setup you can branch out the applications. I went with a 5 gallon tank so I could use air tools. Hopefully that will be okay. Most of those setups come with 2.5 gallon tanks. You can also use it for helper-bags and for airing your tires back up after a day on the trails. There was a guy I knew that made a connector so he would hook up all four tires at the same time and air them up.

Haha...this Nate guy cracks me up. Like thumper said, of course we don't need huge horns, but it is fun to scare the heck out of people that are on their way to those super cool car shows
Really though bro...this website revolves around people spending money on and working on their trucks and sharing their experiences with others.
If he has the money to do it and wants to, then let him do it.

My dad used to be a truck driver and he had some train horns mounted underneath his truck. These horns are BIG. VERY BIG! They also require compressed air and some type of lever to pump that compressed air through them. It is really not very practical to mount the kind of horn that I am thinking of on a passenger vehicle. Of course, if there is something smaller that I am not aware of... go for it.
I will say for certain that you could probably cause a wreck on the roads with those horns. My dad used them to get cars out of his way as he was driving down the highway or to scare the crap out of someone not paying attention on the road. Who expects a train to come up behind them on the interstate?
Google LESLIE train horns and you will see some of what I am talking about. Check Ebay or similar if you want to pick some up.

I have a Omega 3 stack horn like the one you like from horn blaster and I love it, I have it with the 5/16 or 3/8" line with a viair 380c 200PSI compressor n switch with stock none high flow valve. The tank and compressor are mounted on my pass. outter frame with my train horns mounted in front of the fuel tank and behide the header and Y pipe on driver side (under driver seat). Next step is louded high pressor valve :-D. you need it in south FL.

What kit do you have? Does yours have a tank too? I just picked up a new '06 Scab XLT and was almost run off the road this morning on the way to work. Some lady in a Suburu started changing lanes right into me. I was laying on my horn the whole time, but ended up on the shoulder before she realized what was going on and got back in her lane. I think one of these horn setups would be good for waking up the oblivious out there.
