Rancho Lift Installed
Hey,
It looks great. I have the Rancho as well for almost 2 years now. It was actually the first '05 lift installed by Rancho for the proof of concept. I know it's based on the '04 model but they still proof it out with each model year.
I must say that it holds up great on hard and rocky offroad. The only disappointment is the way the rear shocks mount. The adjuster for the Rancho RSX 9000 shocks face forward in front of the rear axle. I have hit them twice on the same side. This was in under extreme rocky conditions. Still I had to replace the shocks (one was dented on the tube fairly bad). That being said I would rethink the auto-adjust. One other thing is after 2 years they kinda got soft on the low setting but just a couple clicks and they ride like new again.
I love this lift and would not go any other way. I know you will enjoy it for years to come. No, I have no affiliation with Rancho whatsoever.
Have fun and don't worry too much unless you get into large rocks then be careful on crawl placement.
Here is pic of mine.

i think my brake lines are too short too.. couldn't make it back in the factory brackets
Sorry I'm a little slow getting to this thread, but I was wondering if you had to do any cutting on the frame brackets with the Rancho lift. I went to their website but I can't get the installation instructions to load. I saw the infamous 'Trucks' episode where they put in a FabTech 6" and they had to cut a braket to install it.
I'm considering a lift in the future and like the compromise of a 4" lift vs a 6". It looks like you have plenty of room for those 35's and it looks very level too. Seems like a lot of the 6" lifts you see out there leave the a** end a little low.
Anyway, your truck looks great. I'm jealous.

thanks
yes, i did have to cut the rear crossmember bracket. it was easy but if i ever wanted to go back to stock i don't know what you would have to do. metal seems a little thin to weld but i don't know
