2004 Screw 5.4 Engine Bog Problems

My '04 has 75,500 on it. I have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter, and done a trans. service on it recently. Here is the problem. Between 3000 and 3500 RPM's (roughly that range) the engine bogs at wot. It does it in every gear. If you go from a dead stop at wot, it spins the tires and accelerates until it hits about 3000, then acts like it isn't getting fuel, bogs, bucks, then gets to about 3500 then accelerates normal again. If I go to pass someone, it does the same thing in that rpm range. It does it in every gear and does it 90% of the time. It also pings a little at high rpm. I am going to try a tank of 92 octane to see if that solves that problem. I have tried injector cleaner. I have tried putting the stock program back on it (I have the superchips tuner), and it always acts the same. I changed the plugs today (not fun), and that had no effect. I just pulled my MAF sensor and it was clean as a whistle, just as it should be.

I am out of ideas... Any help?

Sounds like a variable cam timing issue (vct). I will get some more info later.

Mine seems to do the same thing. If i go into a turn and let off then get back on it bogs. Like its no getting enough fuel. WEIRD. Had it looked at and had a tech ride along with me and i could not get it to do it. Hope someone has some info.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so to clear the PCM's memory? That's supposed to clear the learned adaptive strategy.

I haven't tried disconnecting the battery. I figured that when I changed back to the stock program and it still did the same thing that I ruled out a 'puter problem. Probably wishful thinking on my part.

I don't think I have the same problem as the last person either. His problem sounds like a slower than normal opening throttle body, that whole drive by wire thing...

I have a problem when I try to accelerate in 2nd gear if I start around 2000 rpm and go to WOT it bogs pretty bad then it will pick up. Any ideas?
